Social Trading V3 Has Arrived, and It Changes How Fees Work for Good

Copy trading has always run on trust. Followers trust Leaders to make smart calls, and Leaders earn their keep by delivering results. The one thing that’s been missing? A fee model that actually reflects that relationship. Today, that changes.

We’re rolling out Social Trading V3, a third-generation copy-trading system for MT5 that rethinks the experience from the ground up, starting with the way performance fees are calculated.

Out With Per-Trade Fees, In With the High-Water Mark

Under the old model, Leaders earned 15% off every single winning trade, no matter how the account performed overall. It worked, but it wasn’t exactly fair. A follower could be recovering from a rough patch and still get charged on a trade that only clawed back losses rather than created new gains.

V3 fixes that with the High-Water Mark (HWM) approach, now the default fee structure across the platform. Here’s the idea in plain terms: a Leader only earns a performance fee once they push a follower’s account balance past its all-time peak. If the account is simply climbing out of an earlier dip, that recovery doesn’t count as profit, and no fee is charged. Leaders have to fully recover what was lost before fees kick back in, and even then, only on the gains made above that previous high point.

It’s a small shift in mechanics with a big shift in philosophy: Leaders get rewarded for genuine growth, not just short-term wins.

The new default sits at 35%, charged daily, weekly, or monthly depending on account settings, rather than trade-by-trade. And Leaders aren’t locked into that number. Anyone can adjust their own fee up to 35% directly from their account settings, no approval needed. Want to go higher than that? A quick conversation with our support team gets it sorted.

There’s also the Impact Fee to keep in mind: our standard 1% platform charge that applies whenever a performance fee is deducted from a follower’s account. Nothing new here; it works exactly the way it does on every other account type.

More Flexibility for How You Trade

V3 also loosens up the rules around how accounts can be used. Traders can now hold up to two Social Trading V3 accounts, and a single account can act as both a Leader and a follower at the same time, while also following multiple Leaders simultaneously.

In practice, that means you could run one account purely for leading and a second for following, or blend both roles into a single account while spreading your follows across several Leaders. The choice is entirely yours, and the platform is built to support however you want to structure it.

All accounts operate exclusively in USD, keeping things simple and consistent across the board.

Your Existing Follows Aren't Going Anywhere

If you’re already following someone, or already have followers of your own, there’s nothing to do. Those relationships carry on exactly as they are. A new Social Trading V3 account is only necessary if you want to follow someone new or start attracting followers for the first time.

Setting one up takes just a few clicks: log into the Client Portal, head to Platform, select MT5, then choose Social Trading V3. Your login credentials will land in your registered inbox shortly after.

Keeping Leader Profiles Professional

One more update worth noting: Leader profiles now come with a clearer identity policy. Display names, avatars, and summaries can be updated as often as you like, but none of them can include personal identifiers, your real name, your company’s name, or anything else that could identify you personally. It’s a simple rule, and it applies to every Leader on the platform, designed to keep the focus on performance rather than personality.

What This Means Going Forward

Social Trading V3 isn’t just a fresh coat of paint. It’s a rebuilt foundation for how Leaders and followers work together, one where fees are tied to real performance, flexibility is built in, and the ground rules are transparent for everyone involved.

The update is live now. Current users won’t notice any disruption to their existing follows, and anyone ready to explore Social Trading V3 for the first time can get started today through the Client Portal.
